Our Seacat / Marieholm 16

During the summer of 2004 we have had the pleasure to sail with our new sailboat, a Seacat (Marieholm 16). She is a old lady for the late 1960 and during April to late July we have been working hard on her. A lot needed to be fixed and more needs to be done. This year we settled with removing all old bottom paint, repair gelcoat and then bottom paint it all, only took about 100 man hours.
She have sailed nicely with us during the summer, she is not fast but she sails nicely. Perfect for having a good time at sea. We have had the opportunity to test her limits twice, in storm weather. She handled it perfectly in both 15 and 18-19 m/s and ruff sea!

Autumn sailing and first emergency call response - October 2004

We planned to have a nice sailing trip in the beginning of October, but the main sail wire broke so we had to use the engine and only sail with the genua.
One week later we got a call that our boats anchor had lost it grip and we had to do a emergency call response a early rainy stormy cold Sunday morning. Damn it was cold!

Time to take up the boat for the winter

Fredrik have moved the boat so it can be lifted up and stored for the winter, it was a beautiful trip a clear and cold autumn day. Unfortunately the main sail wire is broken so Fredrik couldn’t use the sails. But it was a wonderful trip as you can se on the pictures below.

Finally we have been able to get our Seacat lifted up of the freezing water and it is now having its lethargy next to our house.
